Picking a Major/College?

I am going to a community college right now and I want to transfer and get my major in archeology. Unfortunately there are not that many colleges that offer archeology as a major. I want to study ancient civilizations and how they progressed. Basically how literature, agriculture, and civilization started. I know that I can major in different types of Anthropology. I just want to know if it will make a huge difference in the long run. I would also liked to know what schools I should look into. I have found a few, but I would really like some input=) Thanks!
