Are archaeology and anthropology closely related?

Anthropology is (usually) split into four groups: Archaeology, Biological, Linguistics, and Cultural. In Europe, the groups are often split into their own departments, and you'd just pick one, so no, you wouldn't necessarily major in Anthropology. In the US, you would probably get a bachelor's in Anthropology, and then get a Master's in Archaeology.
