Israel has been very open to archaeology in its country even to atheists, how about Saudi Arabia?

Perhaps to the embarrassment of Israel's religious Jews modern archaeology in Israel has turned up evidence contradicting some key concepts in the bible - see Dr Francesca Stavrakopoulou. I'm sure Saudi Arabia is much less open but I wonder if it is because they are hiding some embarrassing archaeological from Muslim believers. If so what do you think that may be?
